Palak Paneer

Palak Paneer

Ingredients:
500 gms Paneer cubed and fried
3-4 cups of spinach
1/4 cup peanuts
1-2 green chillies
1 small onion finely chopped
1/2 tomato finely chopped
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 tbsp cream
1 green cardamom
2-3 cloves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1″ cinnamon
Salt as per taste
2-3 tbsp oil

Method:

  • Start by blanching spinach and peanuts in a pot of boiling water for 5-6 minutes. The spinach will begin to change color once cooked. Let this cool at room temperature, then add salt and blend in a mixer. Keep aside to use later.
  • To prepare the sauce, heat oil in a pan on medium flame and add the cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and cumin seeds.
  • Once they begin to splutter add the chopped green chilles and onions. As the onions begin to caramelize add the ginger garlic paste and sauté for 2-3 minutes on slow flame.
  • Next turn heat to medium and add in the chopped tomatoes and mix together. Once the tomatoes are soft add in the spinach paste and mix well.
  • Add the paneer cubes and garam masala. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes on low flame. Lastly stir in the cream and taste for salt if needed.
  • Serve with Green Peas Pulav.
