
Ingredients:
500gms red carrots grated
1 cup granulated sugar
500 ml milk
1/4 cup roasted nuts
1/2 cup khoya/mawa
A pinch cardamom powder
1/4 cup ghee
Method:
- Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan on medium to low heat and add the grated carrots. mix well for 10-15 mins then add the milk, cardamom powder & sugar.
- Mix together, cover and let it simmer for 25-30 mins or till carrots are done on medium to low heat.
- Taste for sweetness & add more sugar if needed. Finally add the mawa & toasted nuts.
- Keep stirring making sure the halwa doesn’t burn. The halwa consistency should be thick not dry.
- Serve hot or cold.
