Chocolate Date & Walnut Cake

Date & Walnut Cake

Ingredients:
1 cup dates chopped
1 cup walnuts chopped
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup melted butter at room temp
1/2 egg lightly beaten
1/2 cup brown sugar
2-3 tbsp of cocoa powder

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 350F or 175C, meanwhile take a bowl & add flour, baking powder & set aside.
  • In a separate bowl beat egg and slowly add brown sugar mixing it well. Stir in the coco powder & flour mix that you set aside earlier.
  • Then add dates & walnut with melted butter, whisking them well together. Pour into a greased baking pan & bake for 45-55 mins. Do a quick cake test by poking with a tooth pick or knife to check doneness.
  • Let it cool for 10-15 mins, then serve.
