Prawn Potato Chops

Ingredients:
1 Onions (sliced)
2 Green chillies (chopped)
1 Tomato (chopped)
1 tsp turmeric powder
250 grams Medium sized prawns chopped
1/4 cup Coriander (chopped)
300-400 gms potatoes boiled & smashed
1 tsp Salt
1 egg beaten
1 cup semolina or breadcrumbs for coating
2 tbsp Oil

Method:

  • Fry onions & green chillies till onions turn translucent.
  • Now add the tomatoes & fry till soft.
  • Add turmeric & chopped prawns. Saute for a few mins & add a little water, salt if needed.
  • Add the freshly chopped coriander, mix well & keep aside.
  • To make the potato chops, take a handful of smashed potatoes & stuff them with the prawn mix making sure they are well covered. Now shape them into discs & let them rest for 10-15 mins. (Pro Tip: keep in the refrigerator for firmer potato chops)
  • Dip each disc in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs or semolina & shallow fry till golden brown & crispy.
  • Serve hot with green chutney & ketchup.
