Ingredients:

1/2 cup Goa rice (Use any fat rice instead if you don’t have Goa rice)

¾ cup whole green moong dal

1 cup grated coconut

250 gms palm jaggery

5-6 cardamom seeds

Method:

  • Soak rice & moong dal for 1-2 hours in some water.
  • Meanwhile grind coconut with 1/2 cup water & keep aside.
  • Pressure cook rice & moong dal for 8-10 minutes with cardamom seeds. If you don’t have a cooker just boil in a pot of water till 3/4 done.
  • Add the ground coconut paste & mix together.
  • Now add grated jaggery & keep stirring till the jaggery melts.
  • Use a masher & roughly crush some of the mixture.
  • Bring to a roiling boil & serve hot.
