
Ingredients:
To boil the chicken:
- 500 gms/1 lb chicken thighs
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Oil
- Water
To saute:
- 1 big onion sliced
- 2-3 green chillies chopped
- 8-10 curry leaves
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil
Method:
- In a pot/pressure cooker add some oil & seer the chicken. Then add water, salt & turmeric. Pressure cook till done. Cool, shred roughly into big pieces & keep aside. Note: Leave the bones in, it adds to the flavor of the dish.
- In another pot heat oil & add the onion. Saute till translucent.
- Add the green chillies & ginger-garlic paste. Fry till the raw ginger smell leaves.
- Now add red chilli, garam masala & salt. Saute till spices are cooked.
- Toss in the chicken pieces. Add water or stock & mix well together.
- Add curry leaves & black pepper powder.
- Mix together & remove from heat.
- Serve hot!!!
