Malabar Prawn Rice

Cooking time: 30 mins.⏳

500 gms prawns
2 cups rice
1/2 onion sliced
1 tomato chopped
1″ cinnamon
1-2 bay leaves
2-3 cardamom
3-4 blackpepper corns
1/2 tsp garlic
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt
Oil

 

Method: 🥣
Fry the cinnamon, bay leaves, cardamom, peppercorns, garlic and ginger in some oil. Add the sliced onions and saute for a few minutes.

Now add the turmeric, garam masala, red chilli & coriander powder.

Mix well & add the prawns with the chopped tomatoes. Once the tomatoes are soft add some water & bring to a boil.

Now add the basmati rice & mix together.Add some more water to cook rice if needed.

Cover & cook for 15 mins on medium heat.
 

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander. Serve with salad.
